"Reader, I'm marrying him."

The Wedding Location
Our ceremony is at
St Andrews Church
Old Church St, Aylestone,
Leicester LE2 8ND, UK
And our reception is at the small hall across the road. There will be plenty of people to direct you to the right places once you arrive.
There is a small amount of parking available at the reception hall and some on-street parking is also available. Alternatively, we recommend using Uber to get a taxi.
Hotels in Leicester
There is a selection of hotels available in central Leicester (or downtown for the Canadians among you), which is where we would recommend you stay.
They're all walkable from
Leicester Train Station.
London Rd, Leicester LE2 0QB
And you'll find plenty of food options and things to do if you happen to be around before or after the wedding (we've provided a selection of activities, sights, and lovely restaurants at the bottom of this page).
Alternatively, you could look for an apartment to rent using Airbnb.
Traveling to the UK?
Joanna has made this trip many times and is now officially a veteran explorer when it comes to crossing the Atlantic. As a traveler of such great distance – estimated at 35,000+ miles (56,000+ kilometers for the Canadians in the crowd) by this point – Joanna has picked up a thing or two. There is wisdom behind those beautiful eyes and we've captured some of it below for you.
If you're flying from Canada you'll find regular flights between
Toronto Pearson International Airport
and
We recommend that you fly to Heathrow as from there you'll find transfer to London Central easy, here are some options, and from London Central you can take a train north to Leicester.
To get to London Central from Heathrow Airport you will need to take the Piccadilly Line for 23 stops, which takes about an hour (that's a long time to be on the tube), so we suggest a stop along the way to refresh; Tea and a scone smothered in clotted cream and strawberry jam is a British favourite (and Joanna's).
Once you're in central London you can enjoy the sights (we've curated a selection of our favourites at the bottom of this page for you) or you can continue on the Piccadilly Line until you reach
Kings Cross & St. Pancras International Train Station.
From here you can get a train to Leicester.

Samuel's going for a super secret pint... Shhh, don't tell anyone.
We'll do the thing with the vows and rings.
NOTE : If it's gold, then that's the time it is happening. Everything else will be roughly as indicated.
The Buffet
One of Samuel's love languages is food and sharing
a meal together is much more our style than a formal dinner (super for our Canadians).
Therefore, we kindly ask you to bring your favourite dish to contribute to the feast. It could be a main, side, or pudding; Whatever you love, we're looking forward to trying it. And a bottle of you're favourite alcoholic drink (soft drinks will be provided).
P.s. there will be a little coordinating happening to ensure we
don't have 15 trays of samosas (some of you in the crowd will know which samosas we're speaking of).
NOTE : if you're coming from Canada, then we've got you covered (food will be provided). Grab a bottle of you're favourite bubbly, beer, or spirit on the way (if you want something specific) or enjoy what we have brought for you.

Gifts
The most important thing to us is being able to celebrate with you on our wedding day.
However, if you wish to give a gift, we would be incredibly grateful to receive a small contribution towards our honeymoon in Wales.
We're hoping to spend a week in a little cottage with an open fire, a cosy blanket, and hot chocolate, s'mores, and other decadent nibbles.

NOTE : for those of you in Canada you can click on the currency to change it to CAD.

Photos
During the ceremony we politely ask you don't take any photos. We've booked a professional photographer who will be covering that task for us.
Outside the ceremony you can take as many as you like.
No doubt, we will miss countless special little moments throughout the day and would love you to share those with us after the wedding.
On the day there will be a QR code available that links to a location where you can share your personal pictures with us (we're so excited to flick through them all on our honeymoon).
NOTE : we have specifically chosen a photographer that specialises in candid shots. They will be making their way through our activities, say hello (they're lovely) and feel free to ask for a picture here or there, or don't (they'll be doing their thing).

Questions?

We've provided answers to what we hope are the key questions you'll all have for us, but if there is anything we've forgotten to cover, then please drop us a message.
FAQ
01
What's the dress code?
Wedding attire, but bring comfy shoes for the ceilidh and feel free to have a change of clothes for the dancing as well.
03
Is parking available at the church and reception?
Very little parking is available at the venues, but there is on street parking in the estates around the locations. Please find a spot and be mindful of people who live in the area.
05
Travel in the UK
Travelling in the UK can be expensive. We suggest you pre-book your transport, such as trains, with anytime tickets (if possible) to account for delays. Pre-booked tickets are significantly cheaper (if done a month or two in advance).
02
What's the weather likely to be like in the UK?
Wet and grey with a side of the sun going down at 4:30 PM. Bring an umbrella and a coat if you get cold, but we will be indoors all day.
04
Dropping of food & drink
The reception hall is located on the opposite side of the road the church and it will be open for you to drop off any food and drink between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM.
06
Can we bring children?
Despite many of our loved ones and friends having growing families of their own we have decided to have no children at the wedding.
